This site does one thing: it receives hardware reports and log files that you choose to send, so we can support your hardware in NullMoth Systems’ free tools. Here is everything that happens to them.

What we receive

• The files you pick. Usually the 1401 Probe .zip, or a log file.
• Your notes and contact, only if you fill them in.
• The time it arrived and a fingerprint of the file (SHA-256), so a report sent twice is kept once.

What we don’t keep

• Your IP address. It is held in memory for up to an hour to stop abuse (a limit on uploads per hour) and is never written to disk. The web server keeps no access log, so downloads of the Probe aren’t logged either.
• Cookies, analytics, ads, trackers. There are none. This site loads no third-party scripts or fonts.

What a Probe report contains

Model names and IDs of your processor, motherboard, graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, sound and USB devices; firmware tables (ACPI); boot-related BIOS/UEFI settings; and the kernel log from the scan. The Probe removes serial numbers, UUIDs, MAC addresses and your Windows product key before it saves the report, and it never reads your drives or connects to the internet. You can open the .zip and read all of it before you send it.

Who sees it and why

Your files are read by the NullMoth Systems developer, sometimes with the help of AI assistants (such as Claude by Anthropic), only to work out what your hardware needs. Files are never made public, sold, or shared for any other purpose.

Where it is kept

On a server we rent from Hetzner Online in Germany, and on the developer’s own computers while a report is being worked on. Files are kept for as long as they help us support that hardware.
